Bedroom furniture is not cheap… usually. Most of the time, you can forget about going in and paying cash… some bedroom sets have gotten to the point where they are almost as expensive as buying a new car! In these circumstances, you generally either need to put them on a credit card, or pay them off using financing obtained from the store itself.
However, with financial hardships (the current state of our economy, while improving, leaves much to be desired it seems… at least, that is how many people feel…) also come new and improved ways to save money. One of those ways is by utilizing new markets for buying things like furniture for the bedroom. So, if you need some new furniture for your sleeping quarters, like a silentnight bed or a mattress, here are some inexpensive places to look.
First, you can buy factory direct. There are several companies out there that offer factory direct furniture at very discounted prices. By eliminating the middle man, you can save a ton on all kinds of different bedroom sets and pieces.
Next, why not try garage sales or thrift stores? These places might not sport anything new… but that is where a little bit of time can save you a lot of money. You can buy an old dresser for a fraction of what it would cost new (sometimes even get them for free…) , add a coat of paint, and then put it up in your bedroom! It will look good as new, and you will have paid only a fraction of what it would have cost you to buy it from a showroom floor. Besides, this way you get to pick the color!
Another place to watch is the newspaper. Look for auctions where old furniture will be sold. People generally don’t need this kind of stuff, so you can grab it up for little or nothing. Often, this auction furniture is almost new anyway!
